Annual Educational Conference and Food Fair

Celiac Disease Foundation presents their Annual Education Conference & Food
Fair on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles,
California from 8:30am to 4pm.
Speakers include Chaitan Khosla, PhD, Research Scientist and Professor of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, Stanford University, Andrea Levario, JD, Executive Director, American Celiac Disease Alliance, Ted Malahais, DDS, Researcher, Richard Ottenstein, PhD, Psychologist, and Annette Taylor, MS, PhD, President and CEO, Laboratory Director, Kimball Labs.
This year, CDF has expanded the Food Fair to include special demonstrations
and tastings by Jessica Hale of GlutenFreeda who will present a gluten free
gourmet food demonstration and tasting and Anna Sobaski of Gluten Evolution
who will demonstrate the many uses of her Pie Crust Mix including an
assortment of sweet and savory fillings.
There will also be Extensive Vendor Displays with samples and sales. A
Continental gluten free breakfast and lunch will be provided with
registration. The new gluten free bakery in Los Angeles, The Sensitive
Baker, will be providing rolls and breadsticks for the lunch buffet.
Registration before April 30th is $90 for members and $115 for non-members.
After April 30th the fee is $130. Walk-ins the day of the conference will
also be $130. Children between ages 5 and 14 are $40. Free parking with
validation is available at the parking structure directly across the street
from the Conference Center.
There will be an all day supervised Children's Program for celiac kids and
their siblings ages 5 and up. Included in the day's activities will be Q&A
with a psychologist and registered dietician, arts & crafts activities and
gluten free snacks.
Lunchtime mini sessions will include discussion groups for people newly
diagnosed, teens and young adults. Author Karen Fine will have her new kids' book "How I Eat Without Wheat" for sale and be available for book signing.
