Not only will you get to honor your favorite brands and products, but they’ll also give the first 2,000 voters a chance to sign up for our newsletter and get a FREE five-pack of American Dining Cards (worth $11!). The dining cards are completely free to anyone with a US shipping address, just for completing the survey (they’re even covering shipping).

Book Review Wednesday: Triumph Dining Gluten-Free Restaurant Guide

Triumph Dining has just published the 5th edition of their book "The Essential Gluten-Free Restaurant Guide". I was very excited to get a copy of this newest edition. I have a copy of the 3rd edition which is full of notes, bookmarked pages, and dog-eared corners. Needless to say, I used the book a lot.

The thing I like about the Essential Gluten-Free Restaurant Guide is that they often list restaurants that you can't necessarily find on the internet. You might find this hard to believe, but not all restaurants have websites. Word of mouth and local support groups are a great way to find out about restaurants offering gluten-free meals, but this book puts it all in one place for all fifty states.

The 5th edition has over 6,500 restaurants listed! That’s over 1,500 more than in the previous, 4th Edition of our guide. Over 2,800 of the restaurants listed have gluten-free menus or gluten-free specialty items. (That means pizza, pasta, cupcakes, cookies, and more!) In addition, Triumph Dining has added over 40 chain menus, which means that there are now over 120 gluten-free lists and menus from chain restaurants across the country!

The symbols used in this guide are really easy to use. Here is a breakdown:
Star in circle: Gluten-free menu is available on site
Star: Gluten-free speciality items, such as bread, beer, pasta, etc., are available
100%: This is a 100% gluten-free establishment. YAY!
A book icon: This is a chain restaurant.

I am very excited to try some new places that I discovered in this 5th Edition Essential Gluten-Free Restaurant Guide in NY, CT, and wherever else the new year takes me. With the holidays right around the corner, I think this would be a great gift for the gluten-free person in your family.

Order your copy of the 5th Edition Essential Gluten-Free Restaurant Guide today by clicking here today!

Disposable American Gluten-Free Dining Cards
I was lucky enough to get a sample pack of the Triumph Dining Gluten-Free Dining Cards a few years ago. They have come in handy both locally and internationally. The only thing I worry about is making sure to get my card back by the end of the meal. Luckily, I always have. Triumph Dining recently created tear-off copies of their English American-cuisine dining cards. I think this is a fantastic idea. Not only do you have to not worry about getting your card back, but it is also an excellent leave behind for a restaurant and a chef. Hopefully the chef will hang on to this card after you present him or her with it and use it as a future reference for gluten-free diners.

Here is some more information about the Triumph Dining Gluten-Free Dining Cards:

"Dog ate your Dining Card? Or, more likely – chef stole your Dining Card? We know, everyone else wants one of these handy little things, too. But that’s not a good reason for you to lose yours. So we’ve come up with a solution for everyone who loans out dining cards and never gets them back, and for the friend or wife who knows she picked her Dining Card up off the table when she left the restaurant, but somehow can’t find it in her purse. Our answer? Disposable Dining Cards.

B"uy a notepad of 50 Disposable Dining Cards, and never worry about losing them again. Just tear one off the pad, stick it in your pocket or purse, and know that you have 49 more standing by for the next time you dine out. Each card has English instructions on the front and Spanish ones on the back. They’re conveniently sized to fit in a wallet or a purse. These are limited edition, so get yours now by clicking here!"

Help Bring Back the Starbucks Gluten-Free Cake!
Dear fellow Celiacs,

We’d like your help to bring back the Starbucks gluten-free cake!

Despite what appears to be strong support from the gluten-free community, Starbucks is discontinuing its Valencia Orange Cake. This is a tremendous blow to the gluten-free community. It’s already so hard to find good, safe gluten-free options. Having a gluten-free treat at Starbucks was an enormous win for the community. It’s sad to see it disappear such a short time later, without any real explanation.

We’ve put together a petition to let Starbucks know how much we miss the gluten-free cake and to let them know we’d love to see it back in our local Starbucks!

Please share this petition with your support group members and ask them to sign it. The petition is located here: http://www.triumphdining.com/blog/petition-to-starbucks-bring-back-the-gluten-free-cake/.

We have 1,900 signatures so far – our goal is 5,000. We chose the goal of 5,000 because it’s a number we think Starbucks would sit up and pay attention to. When we reach our goal, we will present the petition to Starbucks corporate headquarters.

Please join us in our quest to get more options for gluten-free people around the country. I’ll keep you posted.
Thank you for reading this.

Sincerely,
Ross Cohen

Gluten Free Dining Card Giveaway to Promote Celiac Awareness
Triumph Dining is giving away FREE American Dining Cards until the end of August. There’s absolutely no purchase necessary. You can simply visit http://www.triumphdining.com/freediningcard.aspx to participate and get a free dining card.

The purpose of this give-away is to raise money for Celiac Disease Awareness. If 15,000 people to sign up for free dining cards, Triumph Dining will make a $10,000 donation in support of a national celiac disease awareness campaign. When they hit their goal, Triumph Dining will ask you and the gluten free community to help decide which non-profit(s) receives the donation.

Triumph Dining is trying to build awareness on two fronts: With 15,000 more dining cards on the street, they will educate more restaurants about the gluten free diet faster. And, with $10,000 funding behind a national campaign, they can diagnose and educate more Celiacs.

The FREE dining card offer is available at http://www.triumphdining.com/freediningcard.aspx and Triumph Dining will post regular progress reports on our blog at http://blog.triumphdining.com.
