Gluten-Free Support Groups on the Celiac Project Podcast
I am thrilled to share the latest episode of the Celiac Project podcast. Hosts Michael and Cam asked me to come back to their show for a second time, this time to share my wisdom about celiac and gluten-free support groups. As the former organizer of the New York City Celiac Meetup group for more than ten years and the current organizer of the Santa Cruz Celiac and Gluten-Free Meetup groups, I have plenty of experience in that topic.

Support groups are a very important part of living with celiac disease. Finding someone else that you can say "ME TOO" when it comes to gluten, doctors, restaurants, or anything else unfortunate that comes with celiac (um, like poop?!) is such a comforting feeling. If you cannot find an in-person group, I highly suggest finding a friendly Facebook group or other online forum where you can connect with others.

Take a listen to episode 78 of The Celiac Podcast below.

Erin Smith's wisdom will blow you away! She was instrumental in building the New York City Celiac Disease Meetup into the largest celiac support group in the world! You can read about Erin's adventures on her 2 great blogs, Gluten-Free Fun and Gluten-Free Globetrotter.

Today, Erin talks all about celiac support groups, which are near and dear to her heart. She has some wild stories, and shares some thoughts and tips about starting or joining a support group in your area. We all need some peer support and Erin is excellent at connecting. Learn from one of the best!

Getting the Correct Information on Gluten Free
A few weeks ago, radio personality Joe Kelly from Cat Country 107.3FM in New Jersey, posted his opinion of the gluten-free diet on his website. This caused a bit of an uproar in his listening community and my friend Michael Savett, from Gluten-Free Philly, went on air to set Joe Kelly straight. Click here to listen to the entire interview with Michael. Many thanks to Michael who continues to be an amazing advocate for our gluten-free/Celiac community. Thank you Joe Kelly for admitting you made a mistake and didn't do your homework first.

Gluten-Free Fun on the CookBliss Podcast
Last week, I was thrilled to be interviewed by the extremely talented Elizabeth Barbone of GlutenFreeBaking.com. Elizabeth recently launched Cook Bliss, "the food lover's podcast with a gluten-free and food allergy twist." In her new podcasts, Elizabeth covers all things food and shares stories about what it like to navigate a special-diet lifestyle. In the interview, we talk about me growing up gluten-free, my Gluten-Free globetrotting travel, and the NYC Celiac Meetup group

I met Elizabeth a few months ago when she was meeting with her publisher in New York City. I was beyond flattered that she reached out to me for this meeting. As we sat and sipped coffee together, I felt like I was talking to an old friend. If you aren't reading Elizabeth's blog or reading her weekly column on Serious Eats, you should be. Not only she is a talented gluten-free recipe maker, but she is one of the most down-to-earth people in the gluten-free industry today. Elizabeth has also written two cookbooks: Easy Gluten-Free Baking and How to Cook Gluten-Free: Over 150 Recipes That Really Work.

Visit Elizabeth's new Cook Bliss website to listen to my interview or click on the play button below. My interview starts around the 33 minute mark. You can also download directly from iTunes.

Hold The Gluten Episode with Gluten-Free Fun
This is what happens when you are sick with autoimmune diseases and have a foggy brain... you forget to post exciting things like being featured on the popular webcast, Hold the Gluten.

At the end of September, I attended the PIX11 Health and Wellness Expo here in NYC. Before I left, I was thrilled to chat with Maureen from Hold the Gluten and Vanessa from Delight Gluten Free (and Maureen's new HTG sidekick!) This was less like an interview and more like just chatting with the girls. They are fun, engaging, and ask really great questions. Please click the link below to listen to my Gluten-Free Fun interview with Maureen and Vanessa.
