I cannot believe that tomorrow has been exactly one year since my wedding. Time flies when you're married, I guess! Just in time for my anniversary, I recorded a podcast with my friends Mike and Cam over at The Celiac Project. I share my top tips for planning a gluten-free event including what to ask, how to alleviate fears, and most importantly, how to enjoy your big day.
When I was in Indianapolis for the Gluten-Free Food Allergy Fest last month, I FINALLY got to meet Michel and Cam from the Celiac Project Podcast in person. I say finally because I've spoken to these guys both on the phone and over Skype but we never met face to face. These guys are the best and I felt like I was meeting my long-lost celiac brothers. Both Michael and Cam are truly genuine, friendly people and amazing celiac advocates. Their mission to spread information about living with celiac disease, eating gluten-free, and everything th. If you aren't already listening to their podcast, you should be.
Michael, Cam, and I at the Indianapolis GFFA Fest
Join Mike and Cam for their first podcast recorded live on location with their special guests, Erin Smith (Gluten-Free Globetrotter and Gluten-Free Fun) and Margaret Clegg (MI Gluten Free Gal). We have a spirited round-table discussion about all things celiac and gluten free. This is part 1 of our exciting, interactive presentation in Indianapolis. We answer great questions from the audience as well.

I am thrilled to share the latest episode of the Celiac Project podcast. Hosts Michael and Cam asked me to come back to their show for a second time, this time to share my wisdom about celiac and gluten-free support groups. As the former organizer of the New York City Celiac Meetup group for more than ten years and the current organizer of the Santa Cruz Celiac and Gluten-Free Meetup groups, I have plenty of experience in that topic.
Support groups are a very important part of living with celiac disease. Finding someone else that you can say "ME TOO" when it comes to gluten, doctors, restaurants, or anything else unfortunate that comes with celiac (um, like poop?!) is such a comforting feeling. If you cannot find an in-person group, I highly suggest finding a friendly Facebook group or other online forum where you can connect with others.

Last week, I was thrilled to be interviewed by the extremely talented Elizabeth Barbone of GlutenFreeBaking.com. Elizabeth recently launched Cook Bliss, "the food lover's podcast with a gluten-free and food allergy twist." In her new podcasts, Elizabeth covers all things food and shares stories about what it like to navigate a special-diet lifestyle. In the interview, we talk about me growing up gluten-free, my Gluten-Free globetrotting travel, and the NYC Celiac Meetup group.
I met Elizabeth a few months ago when she was meeting with her publisher in New York City. I was beyond flattered that she reached out to me for this meeting. As we sat and sipped coffee together, I felt like I was talking to an old friend. If you aren't reading Elizabeth's blog or reading her weekly column on Serious Eats, you should be. Not only she is a talented gluten-free recipe maker, but she is one of the most down-to-earth people in the gluten-free industry today. Elizabeth has also written two cookbooks: Easy Gluten-Free Baking and How to Cook Gluten-Free: Over 150 Recipes That Really Work.
This is what happens when you are sick with autoimmune diseases and have a foggy brain... you forget to post exciting things like being featured on the popular webcast, Hold the Gluten.
At the end of September, I attended the PIX11 Health and Wellness Expo here in NYC. Before I left, I was thrilled to chat with Maureen from Hold the Gluten and Vanessa from Delight Gluten Free (and Maureen's new HTG sidekick!) This was less like an interview and more like just chatting with the girls. They are fun, engaging, and ask really great questions.
